Lavender is a flavor that goes well with fruits. During hot weather try this variation on lemonade with lavender-infused water. Or this fall try this lavender mint punch for evening get togethers.
Easy Lavender Lemonade
1/2 cup dried lavender leaves
1 quart water
How to Make It
- Bring 1/2 cup dried lavender and 1 quart water to boil.
- Turn off heat, cover, and let sit 5 minutes.
- Strain and use as part of liquid in reconstituting two cans of frozen lemonade or the equivalent dry mix.
Lavender Mint Punch
6 cups boiling water
3 tablespoons fresh peppermint leaves
3 tablespoon fresh lavender buds
1-liter ginger ale, chilled
1-2 cups white grape juice, chilled
Boil water and add fresh mint leaves and lavender buds. If you don’t have fresh, substitute one tablespoon each dried mint and dried lavender buds. Leave the lavender-mint tea on the counter overnight or until the water cools to room temperature.
Strain out the mint leaves and lavender buds. Combine liquid with ginger ale, and grape juice in a punch bowl to make one gallon. Float a few fresh leaves of mint in the punch.
